Find the right arch height – this is how you choose insoles that fit your feet

Choosing the right arch height for your insoles is crucial to giving your feet the support they need. Whether you walk, exercise, or stand a lot at work, the right insoles can reduce the risk of injury, combat tired feet, and improve the comfort of your shoes.

Why is arch height important?

The feet are the foundation of the body. Improper support can affect the entire movement chain and lead to pain in the feet, knees, hips and back. A sole with the right arch support :

  • Distributes the load evenly.
  • Improves posture.
  • Provides better shock absorption.
  • Prevents common foot problems such as plantar fasciitis or overuse.

How to identify your arch height at home

An easy way to test your arch height is to do a so-called “wet footprint.” The test only takes a minute or so and gives you a good indication of which insole will fit your feet best.

  1. Wet your foot lightly and step on a dry surface.
  2. Study the imprint:
    1. Low arch (flat foot) – the entire foot is clearly visible
    2. Medium arch – part of the arch is not visible
    3. High arch – a large part of the arch is not visible at all

Choose the right insole based on your arch

Different arches require different heights of arch support:

  • Low arch (LOW) → approx. 28 mm arch support
  • Medium arch (MID) → approx. 33 mm arch support
  • High arch (HIGH) → approx. 38 mm arch support

Once you know what height you need, you can choose a sole that suits your activity.
